Office water coolers – the modern social networking tool

You may have noticed that water coolers are often the focal point of social activity in offices and work places. Since water coolers became popular in modern offices about 20 years ago, employees often find themselves conversing at the water cooler with other employees. For employees in a large office, seeing a co-worker at the water cooler may be the only time during the day they see that particular employee, which leads to social networking between employees. Water coolers are also often placed in commons areas around an office where
employees from different parts of the office converge.
